About the job:

You'll be joining a thriving independent ecology consultancy - previous winners of the CIEEM Best Small Consultancy award- offering bespoke solutions in ecology and biodiversity, to a range of clients and projects within renewables, planning, minerals and waste, leisure and heritage and strategic land sectors. 

Your role will predominantly involve conducting Preliminary Ecological Appraisals (habitat surveys), protected species surveys (typically newts, reptiles and mammals) and consultancy work including quoting, data analysis, reporting and project management. This will include project work involving travel and work away from home with overnight stays, however you'll benefit from caps on the numbers of nights away or antisocial hours worked to ensure you maintain a great work-life balance.

Salary & Benefits:

Salaries are open to negotiation based on experience, with minimum starting salary of £25,000 and Senior roles starting at £31,000. Benefits and other perks include:

About you:

To apply for this role you will need:

• Relevant degree and professional membership

• At least 1-year experience conducting habitat surveys (UK Habs) and/or protected species surveys

• Ability to lead field teams

• Strong report-writing skills

• Motivated to work both independently and as part of a team, including in remote locations and during unsociable hours;

• Survey design skills/experience

• Full driving licence and use of a car

Protected species license(s) (or working towards) and experience using QGIS or ArcGIS would also be highly desirable .
